Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

BLACK-VENTED SHEARWATERS continue to be seen off coastal headlands. On
November 7, 75 were off Chetco Point in Brookings. A GROUND-DOVE continues
along Wireless Road in Astoria. The Yachats bird apparently has left. A RUFF
is now at Ankeny NWR. On November 11 a RED-THROATED PIPIT was reported from
the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay. A COSTA¹S HUMMINGBIRD was reported November
4 visiting a Battleground Washington feeder.

On November 10 a cruise trip off southern Oregon reported a MOTTLED PETREL,
15 LAYSAN ALBATROSS, three FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATERS, and 45 BULLER¹S
SHEARWATERS.

A major loon movement was reported during the week off Oregon. On November
10 a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Nestucca Bay NWR. Two were along Wireless
Road the next day. On November 5 a TREE SPARROW was near Neskowin. A
light-phase HARLAN¹S HAWK continues to be seen along Hwy 6 east of
Tillamook. The Rockaway HARRIS¹S SPARROW continues to be seen. On November 9
a WHITE PELICAN was photographed along Wireless Road in Astoria.

The conspicuous influx of PINE SISKINS and MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES continue west
of the Cascades. On November 11 two PRAIRIE FALCONS and three ROUGH-LEGGED
HAWKS were seen east of Albany. A GNATCATCHER was seen November 11 in
Eugene.
