Hi,
Maxine Centala was walking along the South Jetty Road at about 1 PM this
afternoon and saw the whitest gull that she ever saw near the Gull Puddle
Turnout. It also had a black ring near the tip of the bill. She thought
it was an immature Glaucous Gull or hybrid.
Elsewhere in Lincoln Co., Phil Pickering found a first-cycle Glaucous Gull
on 1/15 near Taft in Siletz Bay. A Glaucous Gull was also reported in
lower Yaquina Bay on 12/5 & 8, but I don't see any other eBird reports of
them in December or January in Lincoln Co.
A Glaucous-winged X Glaucous Gull hybrid was reported at Ona Beach SP in
eBird on 1/2 (https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S51225289).
