I was told by a friend about a Great Blue Heron Nest with young Chicks in
it located on private property in Linn County. When I arrived one parent
was sitting on the nest with three chicks under it to keep them warm. I
set up my tripod, camera and folding chair and waited two hours before the
other mate flew in and changed places on the nest and fed the chicks. The
Heron pair were taking turns on babysitting duty. I will continue to
monitor the nest and to photograph the chicks as they grow. I thought I
would share the photos even though I can't give out the location. Click on
