I'm pretty sue Ospreys are recorded on the Coos Bay CBC every year. I
don't know when that began, but I think there are often multiple individuals. I
believe these are really overwintering birds. The Eugene CBC recorded Osprey at
least once in the early 70s, I would think it was a late migrant. i once saw an
Osprey at Fernhill Wetland in mid November. No one else reported it so I'd
assume it was actively wandering. I would expect the changed level of Cottage
Grove Lake to be significant for the Ospreys. The fish can't help but move
about under changed conditions. Lars
