[obol] Old Rare Bird Photos Needed

Several of us are attempting to gather photos for some rare bird reports from the past. In the olden days, it was difficult to attach a photo to a report so many old reports were made without photo evidence even though photos were taken. Anyway, below is a list of some of those rare bird reports. Some of these birds were seen by multiple observers so I'm hoping some of you will have some photos (I know lots of people saw the Tufted Duck, the Black Scoter, the Ruff and the Arctic Terns). Many of these sightings were made by Tom Crabtree and Craig Miller and they are working on digging up photos. If you have a photo of any of these and would be willing to share, please contact me.

Ancient Murrelet – Indian Ford Meadow 10/9/1995 “sick bird died the next day”

Laughing Gull – Crane Prairie 9/24-25(?)/2008 (tc, pl)

Iceland Gull – Old Mill 12/15/1995 (TC, CM)

Western Gull – Wickiup 9/18/1994 (TC)

Glaucous-winged Gull – Hatfield Lake 5/15-16/1992 – (both TC) says “photographed”; Wickiup 11/28/2013 (TC)

Arctic Tern – Hatfield 9/9/1983; Tumalo Res 9/12/1982 (all TC); Wickiup 9/1/2008, 9/29/2013

Broad-tailed Hummingbird – TC’s 7/14/1988; 7/28/2012; Craig’s 8/27-28/2004
