I went up to Odell on Monday for a visit before the snow hits hard. What a
beautiful day! No kokanee in Trapper Creek but 3 adult and 1 juvenile (1st
year i believe) BALD EAGLES, 100+ AMERICAN COOTS, 70+ COMMON MERGANSERS, 50 or
so WESTERN GREBES, a few BUFFLEHEAD, a pair of MALLARDS, 4 AMERICAN DIPPERS,
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES, VARIED THRUSH and a lone GULL (herring?). All on
the west end of the lake.

There was snow on the trees but none at the ground at Trapper Ck. campground.
We had lunch at East Odell Lodge (open every day of the year). Headed back in
a heavy snow squall that was moving through. A beautiful day!
