Thanks to a couple of folks who passed on this bad news:
Early on Sunday morning Lion Mountain Bakery, which has hosted the
morning meeting of the Oakridge Christmas Bird Count in recent years,
was destroyed in a fire.

I'm sure that the many birders who've appreciated Jacqui Lomont's
helpfulness and hospitality will be dismayed to hear about this blow to
a business that Jacqui has worked so hard to build.
Much lower on the scale of inconveniences, this also means that we'll
need to find another meeting place for this year's Oakridge CBC on Dec
18th. I'll keep you posted on that, and also if there are any
opportunities to help Jacqui rebuild her business.
