Rick Vetter led us to Idlewild Campground up in the woods north of Burns.
There was a good crust of snow on the ground. He showed us fledgling Red
Crossbills still dependent on their parents.

Speaking of Lincoln County Red Crossbills: I was recently at Depoe Bay. There
were three larger-than-SItka-type Red Crossbills in a small shore pine. One
adult male, one female and a sub-adult male. There were also a number of the
small Sitka Red Crossbills in the area. I was near Boiler Bay,
