Hi:
I have no problem with the hybrid Western-GW, I would have called bird
mostly Western, but maybe bird looked paler in real life.
I was wondering if the other one was a robust Thayer's Gull:
Extensive white fringes to primaries
Very limited gonydal angle
Looks like tail is paler brown rather than brown black?
Significant shade difference between primaries, tertials and back
Does not look that robust and bulky compared to Ring-billed
Head does not look round like Thayer's but I am not seeing that mean look
of a Herring
Did it look short legged?
not sure if back is strongly patterned enough for a Thayer's
But bill does look big and thick for a Thayer's
Can't see if underside of prairies are pale or if it has the Venetian blind
look to primaries.
