That might be the first two bluebird species day in Multnomah County history.

Hi all,
This morning on Powell Butte in east Portland, there was a continuing
Mountain Bluebird at the top of the Hawthorne Trail and a flock of 4 Western
Bluebirds of which at least 2 were banded. I have a pic of one banded one,
but the band is hard to read. If any bluebird researcher wants a better
picture to play with, please let me know. Here are pics of the Mountain and
a female banded Western:

The Sauvie Island Northern Mockingbird continues in his holly tree on Oak
Island Rd. and just south of him, a continuing Black Phoebe was calling and
tail bobbing this morning.
Good birding, Beverly Hallberg
