A few moments ago my wife yelled to tell me there were six YR Warblers on
our small suet feeder- they were all Audubon’s mostly males looking pretty
spiffy. Although the Rufous Hummer numbers are still huge the Yellow-rumped
numbers have been astronomical of late along the coast. I mean they are
dirt common all winter but just coming through in hordes now! They normally
continue so for a while which is a nice spring shot in the arm for us
northern birders waiting for the big migrant movement in another month.
Still looking for coastal bluebirds and shrikes!
Happy birding,
