Thank you to Treesa for setting this up. Hopefully OBOL readers who
really don't want to hear news about the situation at Malheur NWR (all
six of them) will appreciate that this alternative forum is deflecting
such postings from OBOL.
It's also tremendously liberating to have a space where birders who care
about the intersection of birds, bird habitat and politics can share
information without having to dive into the swamp of biologically
uninformed comments and insult-slinging that you'll see on The
Oregonian's comment pages, and similar websites.
Check it out, and please share your voice and perspective on the issues
that affect Oregon birds. If you just want to browse the content you can

I plan to continue to post unusual bird sightings to OBOL, but I'll make
use of this forum to communicate constructively with birders who also
