David Vick, Kei and I did the Madras Winter Raptor Count today. David is a retired science teacher at Madras High and a very good birder. The weather was GREAT! Hardly any wind, temperatures in the high 40's and a few high clouds. Here are the results.
41 Red-tailed Hawks 32 American Kestrels 7 Northern Harriers- 3 males, 4 females 1 Bald Eagle- Adult 1 Golden Eagle- Adult 3 Rough-legged Hawks 1 Merlin 2 Prairie Falcons 2 Great Horned Owls For a total of 90 birds in 60 miles.
