Obol,

We birded briefly at the Ranger District feeder area in Sisters and then
spent 4 hours around Suttle Lake. For some folks, the Pileated Woodpeckers
below eye level were the birds of the day, for others, the Surf Scoters (
total five or nine, depends on whether flock moved with us). Not all of us
saw every bird. There were a lot of birds on Suttle Lake, as is the norm in
October and November when the northern waterfowl are moving south and spend
time here. Rained lightly most of the morning which could have limited
passerine detection. Beautiful around the lake with changing colors on the
leaves and the red crest on the Pileated brightening our day.
