The Grey-faced Petrel Jeff mentioned is same size and weight as a
Short-tailed shearwater. Wing span a bit larger.

My earlier comment about this being well into the Austral spring is not
relevant, but it is close to winter, when the bird might be searching for a
nesting opportunity.
