I tend to agree as I enlarge the photo and study it more carefully. It’s
definitely not an Osprey. My problem right now is my eyes. I no longer can see
anything clearly. I beat leukemia but the chemo destroyed my eyes (and my
balance). When it comes to fine details, I now often defer to others. But, I’ll
take poor eyesight over the alternative (not being here). Just a new challenge.

Hi Dan we did confirm that this is indeed a Cooper's hawk. I did a lot of
research looking at pictures eyecolor stuff like that and it perfectly
matches a three or four week old Coopers. They were a bunch of us that went
back-and-forth on a birding page on Facebook some people said Osprey some
people said red tail hawk but most people said Cooper's and then I did the
research and I'm pretty confident that's what we're looking at here.
Apparently there were three of them and I'm try to find out from the lady if
she knows what happen to them. It was her neighbor. Thank you for your input
though

The foot is wrong for an accipiter. They have a very long center toe. This
looks like a young Red-tailed Hawk.

My guess is Cooper's Hawk.
<https://sites.tufts.edu/babybirds/bird/coopers-hawk/> Scroll down the page
to the pics of 3rd week chicks. They look very similar to me.

Someone in Washington found these birds today right basically on their
front step there are three of them. I don't know what happened yet but a
lot of us were even trying to figure out the ID and I could use some ID
help here. Thanks.
