Bob has an excellent point. Sharp-shinned Hawks are wild birds as much as
Juncos.
My own purely anecdotal observation is that there is a spike in
Sharpshins right now in nw Oregon, as one expects during migration. While
Cooper's Hawks seem to be a regular breeding species in the Portland area,
l think Sharp-shinned Hawks are far scarcer . Not at all likely this
individual will park at David's feeder for months to come. Lars
