Kai Williams and I did the Harrisburg-Coburg raptor route on Sunday
November 17.
It was a cloudy day with a few rain sprinkles in the middle of it, but
nothing that
interfered with our count. We drove about 68.8 miles in 3 hours and 56
minutes.
The birds:
8 Red-tailed Hawk
19 American Kestrel
1 Northern Harrier (male)
7 Bald Eagle (2 adults, 5 immatures) The adults were at their nest site
in the southern portion of the route.
We also had a probable Merlin, but didn't see it well enough to count it.l
Traffic was unbelievably light, making the day an especially pleasant
experience.
