Re: Cathy's 50 some odd harriers, I think Alan suggests that a roost is quite
likely. If so, Cathy might wait a little longer to see if they land, and also
see if any Short eared Owls take off. I was recently at the Farmer Rd roost
here in Polk Co waiting for the Owls to take off. In past years there were
always at least a dozen harriers that would come in, and then the Owls would
take off. However, a few days ago there were only 4 harriers that came
through and did not land, and no owls took off. Maybe they moved elsewhere ?
Some 15-20 years ago when I was there a low flying plane flushed about 25 owls.
