Towhees started singing here in late February, lesser goldfinches a week later,
but for some reason the local house finches took a while.

Alan, we too have had House Finches singing heartily for a week or so here at
our place in west-central Douglas County. The most astonishing thing
recently here was when I opened a window a day or two ago to just listen to
the pouring rain, a Spotted Towhee was singing strongly from a nearby madrone
in the downpour! Wow! Invigorating!

Are those tissues for people who day, "Boo hoo, I'm subscribed to the
opposite list and can't get the kind of information I wanted"?

Greetings Fellow Oregon Birders,
I would like to announce the start of a new Oregon Listserv:
HISTORY OF OREGON ORNITHOLOGY, or HOO. Members of this list discuss
historical aspects of birds, birders, and birding in Oregon. Click on the
link below to sign up.
Note that subscribers to both BOO and HOO will be sent a box of "tissues"
monogrammed with the Oregon Birding Association logo.
(Doing April Fool's a bit early this year.) :-)
