HARLAN'S HAWK feeding on ground along channel e. of Hunter's Gate (Marker #4)
at Ridgefield NWR around 1 p.m. today (1/15/16). Prey undetermined, except it
was a thing with feathers. All black (or blackish) bird, with white stippling
on breast - a real beauty.
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK in Oregon Ash woods along channel s. of Canvasback Lake
(near Marker #10). SANDHILL CRANES heard, not seen, embedded in huge flock of
wintering TUNDRA SWANS.
