We just had six or more beautiful male Western Tanagers [one a young male, whom at first I thought was (finally) a (very large) American Goldfinch rather than all the Lessers we've had at the feeders] drop in to our back garden near the water feature, hang around for about one minute, and then fly off eastward to the Doug Firs on the golf course. Gorgeous! I never get tired of seeing these guys, and it's always May. Last year it was May 19. I did get a few shots, one of which I'll put in a link. Very exciting. http://www.flickr.com/photos/morey_shots/8741807245/ Sandi Morey, NE Portland
