Hoping to catch some of the shorebird migration, I birded the north and south jetty areas of Florence this morning and there was NOTHING around. I had a pair of flyby SURF SCOTERS at the north jetty and a few YELLOWTHROATS around the south jetty deflation plane. Yippie. My guess is that the 30 mph wind gusts didn't help. I did get plenty of sand in my mouth and ears, though, so at least I didn't leave empty-handed. -Brandon
