This morning on the beach at Fort Stevens State Park my daughter Lisa and I
found 2 SNOWY PLOVERS. Neither had leg bands. They were moving about on
the dry sand while nearby were several SANDERLINGS moving about on the wet
sand. Though each species stayed near each other (which helped with
identification as the size difference was obvious), both working their way
north, neither would venture off their preferred sand with the Snowy
Plovers remaining on the dry sand and the Sanderlings remaining on the wet
sand.

Further along there was a flock of 400-500 DUNLIN huddled together.
