[obol] FOY Emu sighted at Ankeny NWR

Good Evening OBOL...
Yes... That's right, an emu, running right down the middle of Wintel Road... I
rolled down the window on my pickup and hollered at the folks in the pasture
where it normally lives. They came flying out on their AYVs and proceeded to
chase it east on Wintel, then back up into the Pintail Marsh parking lot, and
then down the closed trail...
I've never owned an emu, wouldn't think that chasing one with an ATV would be
the safest or most effective way to bring it back home alive... For that
matter, I don't know if they did, for all I know it's out there wandering
around the refuge somewhere intimidating the Bald Eagles...
Sorry I didn't get a photo... I got caught up in the moment and by the time I
thought about it, it was too late...
Other than the usual suspects I also saw a Bewick's Wren and a couple Greater
Yellowlegs.
