There were multiple Pied-billed Grebes with begging (if not fully
dependent) young at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron gardens in Portland
last November. I thought that was late. Possibly three families. I believe
they were benefitting from salmon smolt released into Crystal Springs
Creek.
