Hi - My apologies, particularly to Daniel Farrar for hijacking his email post to report the Elegant Terns back at Newport. I have discovered that I can reply to an OBOL post from my Android phone, but if I originate an email to OBOL it gets blocked. Anyway, there were 6 terns. They were roosting on the rocks of the last finger jetty, and flying around fishing for about an hour, then moved off up toward the bridge, at which point I left. Two briefly lit in the parking area with the 200+ California Gulls present. At the time they left they were being pushed around by some brutish fledgling Western Gulls, who seemed to want the rocks for themselves. Also present: 3 Common Murre chicks accompanied by adults. The adults were molting on their throats. 1 fledgling Pigeon Guillemot. Wayne
