There were at least 25 EARED GREBES spread between the two northern lagoons
at Philomath water treatment facility the last hour of daylight, October 10. I
counted about twelve scattered among the ducks in the nw lagoon, then turned my
attention to the ne pond, where a similar number was spread widely. When I
looked back at the western impoundment there were 16 Eared Grebes in a tight
flock at the south end.
A Great Egret flew away southwestward this morning at 11 from the ponds,
otherwise nothing noteworthy. Lars
