I forgot to forward this to OBOL yesterday. Judy, jmeredit@xxxxxxxxxxx

Candace Cobb and I joined Diane Kook for cleaning out some of her American Kestrel nest boxes so of course we birded along the routes, including Hwy 20 east, Moffit Rd, Rd 23, Rd 27, Badlands. We didn't go as far as Brothers.

SAGE THRASHERS and SAGEBRUSH SPARROWS were in several places. The Sparrows were singing at one spot.
Horned Larks were in singles or small groups in many places.
A flock of about 100 Pinyon Jays seemed to be approaching Pumice Springs. We saw no other birds at the springs but there is water in both basins and the fences are intact. Sand Springs has water, but no birds nearby.
Northern Shrike, Prairie Falcon, Ferruginous Hawk, RT Hawk, Golden Eagle and of course American Kestrels were out and about.
Nice day with just a little work mixed in with the birding. Judy Meredith, jmeredit@xxxxxxxxxxx
