I went out to North Shore Road today to photograph some orioles and Yellow-breasted Chat. I didn't get any usable chat or oriole photos but I got some nice Blue-gray Gnatcatcher shots. This species is likely nesting at this spot. We get them annually here but I don't remember any here during the breeding season. On the way down to that location, I stopped multiple times along Hwy 380 before I hit North Shore Road. I had two locations that yielded Mountain Quail calling. I heard another Mountain Quail call from North Shore Road near the big rock formation.
