While doing my late PM dog walk out in the Eastside area of Coos Bay there
was a first cycle GLAUCOUS GULL sitting on a barge off White Point (west of
Millicoma Marsh across from downtown). With it on the barge were mainly
Westerns, a few Glaucous-wingeds, and both CA and Mews in the bay nearby.
Yesterday, the 18th, I hit several locations in Coos Bay:
South end of the North Spit: one continuing SNOW BUNTING. There had been
two but only a single bird is around now, I only saw one on the 16th also.
Doris Place Boat ramp barns just past the 7 mile marker along the Coos
River on the Allegany road- one continuing SAY'S PHOEBE (there has been two
and there still could be...).
Eastside neighborhood: one ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.
Millicoma Marsh- one TURKEY VULTURE, first one I have seen in Coos Bay this
year.
Lotsa rain and wind today and this past weekend, the tree frogs are happy :
)
ENJOY!
