Besides the Tropical K at Pony Slough, North Bend there were a few other
treats around the bay today. Several Rhino Auklets in the bay (still) plus
a few offshore Cape Arago. Also off Arago were several Cassin’s Auklets.
Some years that is a species tough from shore but not this year! Good
numbers of Harlequins off the cape as usual too. And where couldn’t we go
to not hear another bunch of RB Nuthatches 😀
At Bandon Marsh, Ni-les’tun Unit, there was not one but two Rough-legged
Hawks- a tough bird in Coos some years : )
At the end of the day at south jetty Bandon there was like a hundred
Herring Gulls with the usual wad of CA Gulls, very interesting! One Bonie
Gull nearby and many hundreds of gulls around as the wall of fog moved in
and dropped the temps to head home levels!
