Hi,

At 5:45 PM tonight (Oct. 7), Paula Lester telephoned to report that she had
been seeing an unusual bird on Oct. 15-17 that she today identified as a
Common Ground-Dove based on Sibley's Western Field Guide. It was very
small (about sparrow-size) and has been with a flock of White-crowned
Sparrows and fed on the ground. When it flew, the wings were very reddish.

Today, she saw it four times near her place at 771 Driftwood Lane in
Yachats; she welcomes people to the area but notes that it is sometimes
nearby and not always on the 771 Driftwood Lane property. She does not
have a camera to photograph it.

Directions: from HWY 101 in Yachats, turn west on West 7th Street and at
the first crossroads turn right on Driftwood Lane (map at

For what it is worth, there are 2 accepted records for Oregon (
http://www.orbirds.org/obrcrecordsmay2015.pdf):
