I went up to McGuire Reservoir west of Carlton today looking for birds. On
the reservoir I found a drake Wood Duck, a pair each of Buffleheads and
Hooded Mergansers, a Canada Goose, and 10 Tree Swallows. In the woods I
found G-c Kinglets, C-b Chickadees, Hairy Woodpecker, and a female Rufous
Hummingbird.
Just west of the reservoir along the AB Road I found a DIPPER in Walker
Creek. Carol & I found one there early last year.
I went on west of the dam 4 miles to the rapids above the bridge over the
Nestucca River and found another DIPPER.
Coming back around the east side of the reservoir I found a couple GRAY
JAYS.
Good birding, everyone,
Paul Sullivan
