I first heard the term “flume” used for Snowy Plover from you in high school.
You had heard it from someone else, maybe through scouts?

At this point I can't be certain exactly how many SNOWY PLOVERS are
hanging out on the river beach at the South Jetty of the Columbia, but
my best count was 37 (thirty-seven) and I'm pretty sure I missed some.
And I'm looking for confirmation a the term "snowy flume". I know
there's a story that goes with it, but I don't remember what it is.
Also 9 HORNED LARKS that I'm pretty sure are Streaked form, a RIVER
OTTER and a dead BEAVER...
And the TROPICAL KINGBIRD continues between Kampers West and 13th
street in Warrenton. This is the same location where we had one
last winter.
