I tried, without luck, this morning to see/hear the CALIFORNIA TOWHEE reported
at the boat launch of the south jetty in Brookings.
Highlights were 34 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS and about 40 BLACK-LEGGED
KITTIWAKES between the jetties. Just off the north jetty, there was a
LONG-TAILED DUCK rafting with about 350 SURF SCOTERS.
