Fabulous day on the butte!

Warm, light wind and many birds, about 20 per hour the three hours we were
there, the counters said this was the best day in the past week.

Greatest numbers were accipiters, Sharpies and a few Coops....very cool were 5
Merlins, one young one netted, banded and released for us to watch.

Also of note were 7 N. HARRIERS, numbers which completely amazed the paid
counters followed by more amazement as one was caught in the banding area as we
were leaving.

A few Red Tails passed by, two Osprey, two Peregrine Falcons, perhaps three
Turkey Vultures. Also noted were 3 N. GOSHAWKS.

A very possible BROAD WINGED HAWK was unsatisfyingly seen at a distance
interacting with a pair of Ravens.

Several times we were able to watch birds interacting, diving on one another
and such.

Several folks came and went and a fine time was had.

See the Portland Audubon site for info. and directions.
