I am so glad Phil got out to Boiler Bay today for some long sea watches – I
savored his report. I have never seen the abundance and diversity of birds
there like today – in 20 minutes mid-afternoon there were dozens of FULMAR,
SHORT-T. and SOOTY SHEARWATERs, BRANT, RED PHALAROPE groups flying across the
parking lot as well as thousands over the near ocean, gazillion PACIFIC LOONs,
LEACH’S STORM-PETREL, etc., etc. It was very special.
