Steve I expect the adults will appear. I understand they are unique to Redmon Pond, but the goslings are popping all over Bandon at the moment. I doubt they have abandoned. It is a problem at Redmon Pond at the moment. We have too many people tromping through there, too much clearing going on, too much deteoriation of the natural habitat. I'll be honest, if people don't back off soon, it will become your typical urban pond. I predict two years or less. Adorable creatures. What puzzles me is that I have never observed a goose in the area for very long and on this occasion there were no adult geese or ducks other than the domestics. It tugged at my heart strings and I wanted so bad to "rescue them." I posted a couple pictures to my blog (the topic being the struggle of making a decision about rescues). There are lots of babies starting to show up all around. Also present at the pond were a good flock of Short BIlled Dowitcher and numerous fly-by flocks of peeps and tern.
