I have contributed to the vacant routes in western Oregon by abandoning the
routes I ran for years: Cool Camp in the Tombstone Pass area, and Scio, in the
Cascade foothills between Scio and Silverton. I don't have good reasons for
abandoning them, other than disappointment in my declining ability to hear
kinglets, desire to avoid commitments, and laziness.
But I recommend BBS routes for birders, and these two are particularly rich. If
anyone wants information about them, let me know.
