A few LB Curlews in the wet fields, lots of Sandhill Cranes, e.g. 58 in
one field alone along Hotchkiss. Tens of thousands of Ross's and Snow
Geese around fields along 205 and Harney County Fairgrounds. A massive
flock of them got up at the fairgrounds, in lovely noisy flight when 2
Turkey Vultures came soaring overhead.
And farther east, around Beulah Reservoir, many thousands of usual geese
and ducks, 4 Say's Phoebes, Tree and VG Swallows, and at the NE end, 3
Turkey Vultures sharing a road killed bunny with 2 Ravens and a BB
Magpie. Quite the civilized sharing of a very small meal.
Good birding, will have more to say after another half day around Burns.
