Sounds like a good name for a Barn Owl x Barred Owl hybrid. If there could be such a thing.

Please excuse the brevity and any grammatical errors as this e-mail was sent from my iPhone.

Is a "Bard" owl a Barred Owl or a Barn Owl?

    Hi all,
Sorry for the late report. I went to Finley NWR on the afternoon
of the 14th. Highlights included; 3 Trumpeter Swans at Cabell
marsh, a couple of flyover Horned Larks, 2 G Yellowlegs and a
Long-billed Dowitcher along Finley road. However, the best
birding was at McFadden Marsh. As it got close to dusk geese
started to fly in; 37 Snows at least 16,000 Cacklers and an
immature Ross's that was found in the morning. Other birds of
note at McFadden were a Trumpeter Swan, a Herring Gull and a Bard
    Owl.
       Good Birding!
