The 1st Applegate/Williams raptor survey was accomplished today (12-29-12) Distance traveled: 38.0 miles; Survey time: 3.25 hours Weather: overcast (mid-level) to mostly cloudy last Results: Red-tailed Hawk - 23 American Kestrel - 7 Northern Harrier - 1 Bald Eagle 1 (adult) White-tailed Kite - 1 Merlin - 2 Cooper's Hawk - 1 Others: small flock of CEDAR WAXWINGS, around in small numbers this winter. Flock of 16 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, with Canadas, in a large pasture along Williams Highway near its south end.
