NTA Hampton Roads Chapter members and friends -
Plans to host the 2018 NTA National Conference at Norfolk State University are
well underway - and we need your help!
The conference will be September 26 - 28, 2018. The theme is Full STEAM Ahead!
We will soon be issuing a Call for Papers for both students and professionals.
We are planning sessions on Climate Resilience and Social Justice, and on
Maximizing Geosciences, Education, Research and Workforce Opportunities through
Interdisciplinary Engagement. Traditional topics in STEM/STEAM will also be
covered. There will be a Career and Opportunity Fair for students and
professionals, and a full day of activities for students in grades 6 - 12.
Planning has begun, but there is still much to do. We just received concurrence
from Norfolk State University to be the host site and there are still logistics
to be worked out. We need help getting the word out. We heed help finding
sponsors and other support. We need help identifying and inviting keynote
speakers. We need help forming other partnerships. We need help organizing the
Student Symposium and the Student Activities. We need help reviewing abstracts
and papers. Whatever your talents and interests, we need you!
Our next conference planning teleconference is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 24th at
6:30 pm. We hope you can join us.
