Hi Rob,
We got home late from Brisbane after settling
the kid in after holiday. I only saw the
second half. Wallabies improved a lot
but for a while it almost looked like
a league game. Simply running the ball
1 up when they got close to the AB's line
just won't do. Too easy to get possession
back. AB defence was pretty solid and
Wallabies didn't seem to know what to
do when that defensive wall formed up.
AB's themselves weren't great either
they didn't capitalise on winning possession
back and it just see-sawed up and down
the field. Good desperate Wallabies defence
to hold them out, so they can be happy
with that. Scrum acquitted itself well.
Attack needs more flair.

Thanks for the pics of the bino mount.
It would be handy to have a few closeups
showing components, if you don't mind.
Might be a good project. Have seen some
of them made from alloy, but timber should
work OK. Cheers, Paul.

Well not by 30 but 10 will do. The AB’s retain the Bledisloe for the 9th
yearrunning. And 13 test matches in a row against Australia that New
Zealandhave won. Stats from the beginning… 162 test matches, 112 to NZ, 45 to
AUSand 5 draws…. shucks!!!! we’re good…………. hic! ok Beer goggle are on So
after 5/9 matches in Tri Nation 2010 NZ on 19, AUS on 4, SA on 0. NZ playSA
next but even if NZ loses AUS would have to win every match with a bonus point
to equal NZ and I’m not sure what happens then. Maybe it will be a play off in
Hong Kong. The game started out great with both sides looking like they were
going to play exciting rugby in the first 20. But then both teams looked pretty
flat until about the 50th minute. NZ were better in defence often pushing the
attacking Wallabies back. But they lacked at the break down allowing the
Aussies to capitalise with turn over ball. But the Aussies just couldn’t do
anything with it. Cheers,CS Rob From: nswnra-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

should cool things downfor the match tonight. I remember in my rugby playing
days and the great thing about playing rugby it’s an all-weather game. My
favourite was playing in the rain and big puddles and lots of mud. Which always
turned into a competition onhow far you could slide the opposition into the
spectators. Or sliding intothe goal from a couple of meters out. I don’t think
snow will worry theAB’s but it might be a tad frigid for the Wallabies,
especially the Queenslanders. Should be a great game, we having dinner early so
I can watch the pre-gamewind up. To tell the truth I think the Wallabies will
come out fighting theywill be a lot tougher to beat than last week. Still AB’s
by 30 For the latest from both camps….

great, counterweight taking
all the strain off it. I'll search out some plans when I have more time.

I hope Robbie Deans has tough hide, he'll need it.
May the best team win. One thing for sure,
it's sure to be a great game.

ever you want them too. A few years ago I had a pair of 30x60’s and the strain
of trying to hold them steady gaveme a crook neck. Glen’s banana chair idea is
better than trying to free hold bino’sthe size of something like 20x80’s
steady-ish but I still can’t avoid image shakelike I can with a para mount.
AB’s on home tuff, and with a Wallabies coach on home turf oh won’t the crowd
be dirty lol… AB’s by 30 ;^) Cheers,CS Rob Here’s a couple of photos of my
para mount with dew straps attached. I find theheat off my eyeballs fog up the
ep’s and the front end attracts dew like a finderscope does. You can sit on a
chair or stand whatever you feel like. I use to use itlaying on a trampoline.

Subject: [nswnra] Re: Clear Skies 04/08/2010 Thanks Rob, a couple of pics would
be good. The 20x80's are great but I findholding them for any length of time a
real pain, so i don't use themas much I should. Glen's banana lounge idea is
OK, but limits you towhat patch of sky you can see. Hmmm, clear skies vs rugby.
Decisions decisions. Those beer goggles might be needed. You may needthem to
drown your sorrows when the AB's are flogged. Cheers and good luck for saturday

I’ll throw some photos up later, it’s a mount I use for my 20x80’s it
worksreally well and saves having try hold them steady as you go. I don’t know,
it will have to have some premium ply in there I like woodbut certainly cut
down from the typical obsession style dob. Somethingthat folds up into a large
suitcase size that I can throw in the car withouthaving to almost fully
dismantle it. When I take the 16” out to Leyburn inSeptember I’ll have to put
the mirror back in the freight box it came inand split the mirror box from the
rocker box plus poles and Secondarycage which I made a padded soft case, will
all fit in the car pretty well. Rugby starts at 5:30pm Sat nite : ) might be
observing with a grin on mychin…. but probably through some beer goggles lol.

goer. Pardon my appalling ignorance, but, what sort ofdesign is a
"parallelogram mount". I don't thinkI have come across one, do you have any
pics? There are lots of designs for lightweight scopes, the problem is building
enough strengthwithout excess weight. It makes me wish I had somewelding
skills, just imagine what you couldbuild with a TIG outfit and basic alloy
sections.Beats timber and ply for weight and strength. Will keep a lookout if
there is a viewing sessionSaturday or Sunday night. Cheers, Paul. On

about my mirror it still hasn't been coated yet. Apparentlyhe is waiting on
having a jig made up for his machine so not sure whenI'll get it back, was
hoping to have it by now or at least before new moon. The 8" is a great little
scope with no Argo so it's back to star hoping. Stillremember enough no to need
any charts but it's a bit rough on the old neck though, part of the reason for
getting an Argo in the first place. The only annoying thing is everybody is
using the fire places of a night. It has methinking of building a collapsible
12" grab and go scope. Finished modifying my parallelogram mount, so now I can
send power upthrough it while it can freely rotate. Will give it a whirl over
the weekend Seems I'd had a dew strap go missing through Aussie post so waiting
on areplacement, expecting it to arrive today. Anyways hopefully it will be
nice over the weekend, looking forward toanother session or two Cheers,CS Rob

like a good session. We saw most of the list at Glen's also. You are lucky to
have a good size reserve scope while the 16" is away.Hope the 16" (and your
car) is back together soon. The weather doesn'tsound too bad for the weekend.
Maybe Saturday night will be OK.We will be in Brisbane again on Saturday
(picking up youngest fromAirport - been overseas). Haven't heard much from
Graham although he has been on IISa little bit. Cheers, Paul. You are
