Greeting neighbors. This is about a fundraising event nearby and involves
our very own neighborhood trail too. So I think it's on topic.
This year is the 50th anniversary of the Washington Area Bicyclist
Association and we'd like your help in celebrating.
First, Bob Patten and I are hosting a 'celebration lap' for progress on the
Metropolitan Branch Trail. No, the trail is not finished yet, but let’s not
wait that long to celebrate how far we’ve come!
The event will consist of a guided ride from Union Station to Silver Branch
Brewery in Silver Spring on the evening of Thursday, September 8. The
riders will meet at Union Station at 4:30 and arrive at the brewery around
6:00. You can attend the ride or just meet us at Silver Branch, where $1 of
every beer purchased will go to support WABA!

Second, WABA is hosting a fabulous 50th Anniversary Jubilee Cocktail
Reception on Wednesday October 12 at the District Winery. There will be
refreshments, guest speakers, reminiscing about the past, and dreaming
