I also had mail left on my doorstep a couple of days ago. It happened on one
day but there was also a day this week with no mail. Probably the same two days
that Stephanie had hers left in front of her door. (I live next door to
Stephanie.)
To be clear about this: we on Boston Ave. do not have porches in the sense that
much of the rest of T.P. has. All that covers the front door is the eave of the
house.The mail was exposed to the elements.
This happens once in a while. My theory is that it is someone who occasionally
receives this route as a substitute. Most of the time the mail is put through
the slot.
I even have a sign on my door requesting that the mail be put into the mail
slot if it fits. I put it up originally because mail was being left between the
storm door and the main door. I don't like that because it invites theft but it
is a heck of a lot better than the mail being left on the stoop.
Just dropping the mail on the stoop really is totally unacceptable. But really,
how many times can you complain to the Post Office or to Jamie Raskin's office?
It gets old. There are other things to do in life. I still don't understand why
the Silver Spring area postal service is so much worse than average. It has
been that way for a long time.
