Marcella, thanks for trying to keep the TP Fourth spirit alive this year. I
wish you had brought this idea to the TPIDC. Perhaps it could have been
expanded. The TPIDC is sponsoring a July Fourth home decorating contest in
place of the parade.. Hope you and your neighbors can participate. We are
looking forward to having a traditional celebration next year.

The Takoma Park parade is cancelled- but no permit to parade with our children
down the sidewalks! If you have kids, or are a kid at heart, please join us.
Takoma, Boston, Baltimore, New York and Buffalo if the "parade route" passes
your house, please consider coming outside to join in the fun.
Families, Kids, Big "Kids":
Please join us in your most patriotic attire. Bring your kids, your wagons,
your mini-flags and whatever instruments you can find around the house. You
could even come as a classic Takoma Park parade float if you are feeling
particularly nostalgic.
We will plan to gather in Belle Ziegler Park around 9am and we will begin
parading North East on Takoma Avenue at 9:30 sharp to beat the inevitable
heat.
Please feel free to pass the invite along; the more the merrier.
