Dear Neighbors,
Get off the couch, put on some pants (er, I may just be speaking for myself)
and join us on opening weekend (April 29 and 30) for Closer at Silver Spring
Stage!
And do it for only $10, if you buy between now and 8 pm, during our flash sale,
when you use code FLASH10
Winner of the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play, Closer was adapted
into an Academy Award-nominated 2004 film, but has not had a professional
staging in the Washington area in more than a decade. We at Cogent Theater
Collective originally planned for it to open in DC in March of 2020-- in fact,
we were just days away from opening-- but something happened. Can't remember
what.
Anyway, we've finally brought it back, and you can help support your local
artistic community and enjoy a much-needed night out, as live theater returns
to Silver Spring.
This intimate drama unveils four intertwining lives over the course of
four-and-a-half years, in a stinging look at modern love and betrayal. Directed
by your neighbor David Dieudonne, produced by your neighbor Diego Maramba and
with projection design by me (also your neighbor!), Closer opens Friday, April
29th at 8 pm at Silver Spring Stage (across from Montgomery Blair High School).
After 8 pm tonight, ticket prices will increase to a still incredibly
reasonable $25. (What do movies cost now? $16? Plus parking? Why, back in my
day...)

We hope to see you there!
Best,
Michelle Bowen-Ziecheck on Takoma
P.S. For your safety, Silver Spring Stage requires masking and proof of
vaccination for all of its audience members.
