Subject: [nnasnet] Northern Neck Audubon Chapter Welcomes Public to Annual
Picnic

A service of the Northern Neck Audubon Society---
Greetings:

The annual
Northern Neck Audubon Chapter of the National Audubon Society (NNAS) invites
members and the general public to its annual picnic at Belle Isle State Park on
Monday, September 14, 2015, at Belle Isle State Park. The parking fee will be
waived for picnic and bird walk attendees. This event is free of charge. The
picnic will be held at picnic shelter #3, past the visitors’ center.

The
NNAS Board of Directors will meet at 4:00 PM for a short meeting and to set up
tables for the picnic. Anyone who would like to attend the board meeting is
welcome. The picnic will begin at 5:00 PM. Please bring a covered dish to share,
such as a salad, main course, or dessert of your choice. The NNAS chapter will
provide beverages and picnic ware.

The picnic will be followed by a bird
walk at 6:00 PM for members and the general public. Led by expert birder Frank
Schaff, this is the Chapter’s first bird walk of the new program year and the
only evening walk. It is an opportunity to experience the park as the sunsets
and the birds are settling for the night. On past walks, up to 30 species of
birds have been observed, including many elusive water birds. It is an easy
walk on flat trails. Please join NNAS for this popular opening event.

Hope
to see you there.
